Origin Story

Mario’s first opened in Maywood in 2005 across the street from our current location (current storefront of Uncle Paulie’s). A few years later, we moved across the street to our current location.

Angelo, the former owner, took his experience running successful pizzerias in NYC and gave Maywood its own slice shop. The uncompromising focus on quality ingredients has made Mario’s a Maywood staple for decades.

Transition to Employee Ownership

In 2021 Mario’s transitioned to become employee-owned. This means all employees own shares of the business, further increasing our dedication to providing the best possible experience for all customers.

We use only the freshest and highest quality ingredients to make our sauces and dough from scratch daily. Our menu includes a variety of classic and specialty pizzas, as well as salads, pastas, subs, and desserts. With our warm and friendly atmosphere, Mario’s is the perfect place to enjoy a casual meal with family and friends. Whether you dine in, take out, or have your food delivered, we aim to provide a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience, all made possible by our passionate and dedicated team of employee owners.
